The Iranian Folk Music Festival is held annually in Kerman, a historic city with rich culture, historical monuments, unique pristine nature, and hospitable people.
In November 2021, I, along with my colleagues in Hafdang, was there to capture amazing images of Iranian culture. I was one of the cameramen and the senior video editor in this project.
The musicians in the photo above are Azerbaijani Ashiqs. The art of Azerbaijani Ashiq music combines poetry, storytelling, dance, and vocal and instrumental music into traditional performance art. This art is one of the symbols of Azerbaijani culture and is considered an emblem of national identity and the guardian of the Azerbaijani language, literature, and music.
